We’re so excited to have photos in from a wedding we did this August at the Boston Harbor Hotel for a wonderful couple – Anne and Ian! The spaces of the Boston Harbor Hotel are lovely and a bit traditional with lots of floral carpets and brocade curtains. Our couple wanted to do something to change up the space a bit, make more contemporary and modern. So that’s just what we did!
We did a few variations of table designs with tall vases in dark blue filled with yellow flowers like oncidium orchids or eremurus (seen above).
And above, an alternate design, this time with yellow glass containers and blue flowers. Who doesn’t love a fluffy stem of blue hybrid delphinium? O.k., o.k., not everybody. We’re a little obsessed with flowers, we know! But aren’t they great here?
Here we have a little bit of both. Fluffy blue delphinium with bright yellow calla lilies. You can almost make them out in this photo – some lovely mercury glass votives on each table. Pretty, pretty.
Lastly, we did a few table arrangements of orchid stems submerged in water – each topped with a large floating candle. This design, coupled with votives on the table is a lovely way to achieve a lot of ambient candle light at several levels. Plus it’s elegantly simple.
Many thanks to our creative couple Anne and Ian for letting us have a lot of fun with them on creating this design. And a special thanks to Jim Canole of Jim Canole Photography for his beautiful eye.
