Wired Phalenopsis Orchids (to be used in bouquets)

Just about to dash off to the studio to finish up the final details for our wedding this weekend and wanted to post a few photos I took yesterday as we were working away on the bouquets and arrangements.

Great color scheme here of deep fushia, brillant red, and purple. All of the bouquet required a lot of wire-work (hand wiring of individual flowers) to achieve the rounded look our bride wanted. See photo at left of some of the wired phalenopsis orchids before we incorporated them into the bouquet. (And yes, also note the requisite Starbucks coffee in the background, a MUST for early morning design sessions!)

Here is a shot of Apryl beginning our bride’s bouquet, incorporating the phalenopsis orchids, gloriosa, and Yves Piaget garden roses. Apryl is just amazing, she really becomes almost meditative when she does a bouquet, quiet and deeply concentrating.
