This August wedding took place at the beautiful Wharf Room at the Boston Harbor Hotel – a gorgeous, light filled space right on the waterfront. With a color palette of Tiffany blue, purple, magenta, and silver – the flowers were unique and elegant for this lavish and lovely wedding. So, how about a lovely little mood board to get us started?
As you can see from above, there was quite a bit of color going on but the cool toned color palette kept things unified.
I know, I know, we’re not supposed to play favorites but this was Apryl’s prize bouquet of the 2009 season! It was so dreamy and delicate with pale pink cymbidium orchids, hand-wired crystals, mini calla lilies, and the most pretty handle of hand dyed silk secured with silver bead.
I love this photo, it’s like ‘color theory 101′ – the cool pale blue of the bridesmaids’ dresses, play off against lavender and deep purple/blue fluffy hydrangeas, making each color almost more deep and full of saturation.
I’m so happy with this photo – Petalena purchased this wedding arch last summer since so many bride have a hard time finding an arch or chuppah. Simply Inviting Weddings did the lovely draping and we added flower ‘cuffs’ of purple and blue hydrangea. I channelled my inner calligrapher too and did our bride and groom’s initials on the aisle runner in a cool hued mauve rose petals.
For the entry table, lovely little boxes of chocolate with a towering arrangement of curly willow branches that we strung with pale lavender dendrobium orchid blossoms and teardrop crystals. So pretty and delicate, especially in this unique mercury glass urn we picked up for the occasion.
The table arrangements had two styles – one with more magenta hued flowers and the other with more silvers and blues. Fabulous and fun!
A big thanks again to Simply Inviting Weddings and Zev Fisher – and of course our wonderful bride and groom, Tracy and Matt!
