Garden romantic meets strong geometric shapes in this wedding from June at the Boston Harbor Hotel.
We worked with our clients, Eleanor and Nigel, to create a beautiful stylish design fitting for the space and occasion with a color palette of ivory, peaches, and coral.

Bridal and Bridesmaid bouquets featured those gorgeous “Coral Charm” peonies that we can never, ever get enough of, “Juliet” and “Caramel Antique” garden roses, along with some sweet little lovely spray garden roses called “Lea Romantica.” Added touches of scented white jasmine vine, mint, and sweet pea gave some gestural touches to the bouquets and centerpieces.

There are great options out there beyond calla lilies for boutonnieres (not that we don’t like calla lilies…) like small garden roses here with touches of jasmine flower and vine for the groom.

The ceremony and reception took place at the hotel, overlooking the harbor. We did tall arrangements filled with white hybrid delphinium, ivory spirea, roses, and peonies to complement the bouquets:

Centerpieces were our lush organic style but in more geometric containers. We’re big fans of footed vases, urns, and other unique things but it was great to see how good this kind of floral style still looks (and maybe a bit in contrast with the container that holds it too):

And lastly a sea of linens, glass, and florals…just really, really pretty:

Thank you again to Eleanor and Nigel for having Petalena be part of your day; and to Simi Rabinowitz for the beautiful photographs.

Lovely photos to share on this grey day Рjust in from the wonderful wedding planner extraordinaire Heather Minicucci of Simply Inviting Weddings! All photos are by the talented Zev Fisher.

This August wedding took place at the beautiful Wharf Room at the Boston Harbor Hotel – a gorgeous, light filled space right on the waterfront. With a color palette of Tiffany blue, purple, magenta, and silver – the flowers were unique and elegant for this lavish and lovely wedding. So, how about a lovely little mood board to get us started?

As you can see from above, there was quite a bit of color going on but the cool toned color palette kept things unified.

Delicate and Dreamy Bride's Bouquet. Photo by Ze Fisher.

I know, I know, we’re not supposed to play favorites but this was Apryl’s prize bouquet of the 2009 season! It was so dreamy and delicate with pale pink cymbidium orchids, hand-wired crystals, mini calla lilies, and the most pretty handle of hand dyed silk secured with silver bead.

I love this photo, it’s like ‘color theory 101′ – the cool pale blue of the bridesmaids’ dresses, play off against lavender and deep purple/blue fluffy hydrangeas, making each color almost more deep and full of saturation.

Wedding Arch. Photo by Zev Fisher.

I’m so happy with this photo – Petalena purchased this wedding arch last summer since so many bride have a hard time finding an arch or chuppah. Simply Inviting Weddings did the lovely draping and we added flower ‘cuffs’ of purple and blue hydrangea. I channelled my inner calligrapher too and did our bride and groom’s initials on the aisle runner in a cool hued mauve rose petals.

For the entry table, lovely little boxes of chocolate with a towering arrangement of curly willow branches that we strung with pale lavender dendrobium orchid blossoms and teardrop crystals. So pretty and delicate, especially in this unique mercury glass urn we picked up for the occasion.

The table arrangements had two styles – one with more magenta hued flowers and the other with more silvers and blues. Fabulous and fun!
